project one

process overview

For our first project in 3D Graphics, we took an already existing 2D logo and made it 3D. We started by identifying issues, causes, and areas of interest that we are passionate about. Then we reflected and wrote about why one particular area is personally significant. We then researched organizations or businesses that are connected to and support one or more of those areas we selected. Acting as graphic designers doing volunteer work to support a meaningful cause, we redesigned their already existing 2D logo as a 3D graphic - free of charge!

In order to complete the construction of a newly created 3D graphic, we used skills we learned to build the submarine exercise, which included primitive shapes, splines, shape expanders, and shape deformers.  Lastly, we learned how to add color, materials, and lighting to make the new logo more contemporary.

Sunrise Movement

Sunrise is a movement to stop climate change and create millions of good jobs in the process.

We're building an army of young people to make climate change an urgent priority across America, end the corrupting influence of fossil fuel executives on our politics, and elect leaders who stand up for the health and wellbeing of all people.

first we manually recreated the logos using simple shapes and bends

then we imported our logos into Cinema 4D using Adobe Photoshop

and finally we made a background and added lighting

For the second part of this project, I made a scooter.

I started with a really simple scooter made completely out of basic shapes

Then I edited it by replacing the platform with an oval shape and I made the wheels more ring-like

I then restarted completely and tried to make it more realistic

project three

we had to create a 3d object as a gift for someone special in our lives. This object had to encapsulate the relationship we had with this person.

I started with the basic shape and I made the chain by extruding ellipses and linking them together.

I then copy and pasted more chains and made a hook for them to hang on.

I finished by making the height of the semicircles shorter and by adding color
